Careful movie fans, there’s been a report of an Avatar-watching related death.

The juggernaut of a film is now the 3rd largest grossing film world wide, but you may ask…”how good is it?”

Its so good that a 42-year old man in Taiwan actually died while watching it. Sure, the guy had a history of high blood pressure, but that typically won’t send you to the grave at such an early age.

Film blogging sites have reported complaints of headaches, dizziness, nausea and blurry eyesight from viewers of Avatar and other movies rich in 3D imagery.

I guess taking your meds before the show is a good idea.

Its worth noting that the move Avatar is making a killing at the box office.

For a film that cost 400-million dollars to make, over the weekend it surpassed the one billion dollars in ticket sales mark. That’s pretty impressive, because it moves Avatar to #4 on the all time box office sales list. It also makes director James Cameron the only director to have created two movies that have topped one billion dollars. (The other being Titanic.)

Here’s the top five:
1.	Titanic, $1,842,879,955
2.	Lord Of The Rings: Return of the King, $1,119,110,941
3.	Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, $1,066,179,725
4.	Avatar, $1,018,811,000
5.	The Dark Knight, $1,001,921,825

Here comes my asterisk.

You might know this if you forked over the extra money to see the movie in 3D or the truck load of money to see it in IMAX. Avatar costs more to see, which is why it’s breaking box office records. It’s not necessarily that more people have gone to see it, (at least not yet) but those who have are paying more for it.

The other question is why are people seeing it? I’d say its because of the spectacle of it and the word of mouth. I think its going to lose a lot when they transition it to DVD, so maybe that’s part of the reason too. Does that mean its worth seeing?

Yeah, I felt like I was entertained the proper amount for the money spent.
