I don’t agree, but you get the idea

“If anything is wrong with Rock n Roll, it is that it makes a virtue out of monotony.”
That’s a quote from non-believer Mitch Miller. You know, Mitch sure could swing, but he didn’t know diddly about Bo, or any other rock artist.
Of course the best thing about rock music IS what Mitch calls “the monotony,” but what we call “the groove,” man!
Three chords is all you need- just ask Neil Young, or The Kingsmen, or The Rolling Stones. But I digress.
The reason for posting the quote is because that’s just the tip of the fun that will get the musical wheels turning in your head at a website I stumbled onto yesterday- classicbands.com.
In just a few minutes it told me what made that crackling noise is at the start of the Surfaris’ Wipeout (breaking plywood, meant to sound like a snapping surfboard), that David Crosby has a fake name (what’s wrong with Van Cortland?), and that Dewey Bunnell of America has a summer cottage up north in Vilas County, WI.
And Mitch Miller’s bad attitude made me do it- thanks Mitch!
